To David:You story hits home. My middle son has autism and we are now through our research beginning to think the Tourettes Syndrome my husband was diagnosed with as a child is incorrect and he too seems to have it. It appears much harder to cope with when you have spent your whole life seeking answers for why you are different. I hope the future looks brighter now knowing what you have an what you can do to help.
To Kay: Thank you for reaching out to David and his story.

Autism syndrome is a catch all and some of the population has a familial disorder, some a mitochondrial disorder, some is non-familial and due to increased paternal age or increased age of the mother's father at her birth. If we want to prevent some "autism" we can let people know that a man's age matters to the state of his sperm precursor cells and sperm. Paternal age autism affects sons and daughters equally. Autism is not the big mystery it is claimed to be. There is a great deal of suffering for the person with the disorder.
