Hello and welcome back to the shefbase.com. As you can see, we have now returned following a week of being offline (the reason for which we’re still not sure). As a result, we were unfortunately not able to provide you with live commentary as the Student Union election 2008 came to a conclusion, nor were we able to provide you with your regular email newsletter. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and we hope to be online for much longer now!

These are truly exciting times; we now know the first few members of next year’s Student Union sabbatical team, we have finished our Interval cocktail competition and have our first ever Shefbase.com fashion photoshoot coming in the next week, Varsity is in full swing (and we’re not already out of it), and more importantly I guess, Easter is only a week away! Following on from our success at the Refreshers fair and the launch of our weekly email newsletter, we are pleased to announce that we have a new competition running (and it’s a big one). In collaboration with Interval cafe-bar we are giving you the chance to have your own cocktail served on its cocktail evening - check out the Win page for more details. Where on Earth did Christmas just appear from? Sure the lights have been up for ages, but now they’re selling chestnuts in the street, mulled wine in the bars, and every shop has their standard cheesy Christmas CD playing! We at the Shefbase just love Christmas and so hope that you will enjoy the wonderful and exciting competitions we have coming up and continue to enjoy our content.
