Our Top 5 Christmas Songs!

And so this is Christmas, and what have we done? Taken your suggestions and our own virulently held opinions and compiled a list of our five favourite Xmas songs of course! And here they are:

  1. The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl – Fairytale of New York
  2. It had to be the winner, magically evoking the yuletide joy of arguing with your loved ones and getting wasted on booze!

  3. Last Christmas – Wham
  4. An absolute classic! Pipped to the post only by the fact that it’s Wham and I would have to commit suicide if I put them at number 1.

  5. Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End) – The Darkness
  6. It has to make the top 5 purely because of the hilarity and downright wrong-ness of a choir of children singing “bell(s) end”.

  7. Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band Aid
  8. The first one, obviously. I mean you’d choose Sting, Duran Duran and Kool and the Gang (!) over Beverly Knight, Natasha Bedingfield and Busted any day, right?

  9. Just Like Christmas – Low
  10. An annual treat at Xmas Fuzz Club and a personal favourite of mine, this is Christmas music it’s OK to like.
