- 1… Sugababes – About You Now
A song made from all the right ingredients to make a hit. Spending its third week at number one, About You Now is another thing to add to the Sugababes list of successes. This new release is taken from the bands new album, Changes, which is also seeing huge success having just gone in at number one in the album charts. A rather aptly named album when thinking how difficult it is to identify whose still a member of the band.
- 2… Ida Corr Vs. Fredde Le Grand – Let Me Think About It
Not what one would expect from someone with the last name Corr. In this electric beat driven dance hit there are no fiddles to be heard…thank god.
- 3… Mark Ronson Ft. Amy Winehouse
Anything these two seem to touch recently seems to instantly turn into something big and this cover of The Zutons hit is no exception. With the success of this single its no surprise the collaboration is going to continue making music for Amy’s new album.
- 4… Shayne Ward – No U Hang Up/ If That’s Ok With You
Actually no it’s not ok with me. Neither is the new look, complete with cheesy dance routines, catchy and annoying melodies that result in these songs being etched on my brain all day. Sorry but to me Shayne Ward is just another moneymaking machine thrown up by reality television.
- 5… Hoosiers – Goodbye Mr A
Worried About Ray was always going to be a hard track to follow up but the Hoosiers haven’t done a bad job. This new release is just as catchy, complete with the singer’s crazy, unnaturally high voice.
- 6… Plain White T’s – Hey There Delilah
Does this song make anyone else feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
- 7… 50 Cent/ Timberlake/ Timbaland – Ayo Technology
How many guys with funny names does it take to make a hit song? Well in this case three. And such modest gentlemen they are, announcing this song as ‘Summit special…Unforgettable.’ I’m inclined to disagree though since all Timbaland and Timberlake collaborations are starting to sound the same.
- 8… Sean Kingston – Beautiful Girls
How do you destroy a legendary soulful song? Take one legendary soulful song (Stand By Me by Ben E. King). Add some annoying tweenteen with a squeaky voice who wears his dad’s bling. Mix with an annoying catchy melody and BAM…Sean Kingston’s Beautiful Girls.
- 9… Feist – 1234
Who knew a song that features a singer who can’t count properly could be such a feel good track. If you haven’t already seen the video to this I’d advise you to go and watch it. It’s so colourful and fun.
- 10… Scouting For Girls – She’s So Lovely
She’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, erm did I mention…. she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely, she’s so lovely.
